At AQUIKO we understand that not every invert has a sill or step along its base. It is also frequently advantageous for a designer to have the invert of a pipe or box culvert flush with the chamber or headwall it is intersecting. The usual solution to this problem is to provide a recess for the base of a penstock to be cast into which is far from ideal as it requires additional formwork and curing time for the aggregate used to cast in the base of the penstock.
